NEWS
January 13, 2012Hello Everyone,
2011
I’m pleased to report that 2011 was an eventful year. It started out with me being named 2010 Hudson Valley Jazz Musician of the Year in the annual Times Herald-Record reader’s poll. Also happy to say that there were some great year-end reviews for Gabriele Tranchina’s “A Song of Love’s Color,” even making a few lists for Best Top 10 CDs of 2010 and in addition, garnering some extremely nice words about my contributions as pianist, composer, lyricist and arranger.
The year was was capped off by 2 new recordings I am happy and proud to be a part of:
“INNERrOUTe” is a Free-Improv band consisting of Rick Savage on trumpet/flugelhorn, myself on keyboard, Bill McCrossen on bass and Michael D’Agostino on drums. We do not set any prerequisite boundaries for our improvisations. Drawing on our collective musical experience and deeply listening to one another, we collectively create each compositional journey. Our self-titled first CD released late 2011, is now available at CDBaby and many other outlets. Please check it out.
Pucci Amanda Jhones’ newest recording, “Love Jhones”, is a recently completed CD (release date pending). A really interesting and diverse recording that I wore multiple hats for: Pianist, Arranger and Producer.
Will keep you posted.
As Always, Thanks for Your Support,
Joe
